Mommy Makeover
The arrival of a baby is a joyful chapter for every woman, yet it brings along many challenges and a wide range of emotions. After pregnancy, many mothers struggle with physical changes that can be difficult to accept. Lack of sleep often contributes to lower self-confidence and feelings of insecurity. With a combination of procedures, our goal is to restore confidence by bringing back full, beautiful breasts, a firm and toned abdomen, and a feminine silhouette of the hips and buttocks. More and more women are also choosing to refine the appearance of the external genital area.
A Mommy Makeover is a combination of surgical procedures designed to correct unwanted changes to a woman’s body after pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Breasts that have lost volume after breastfeeding can be enhanced with implants or with the patient’s own fat.
Sagging breasts can be reshaped and lifted with a mastopexy.
A loose abdomen caused by separated abdominal muscles, excess skin and fat is tightened with a full or mini abdominoplasty. At the same time, we remove stretch marks below the navel and revise a sunken C-section scar.
Excess fat deposits are removed with liposuction to recreate a feminine hourglass silhouette. Harvested fat can be used to enhance the breasts or add definition to the buttocks.
These procedures can be performed a few months after breastfeeding has ended.
We advise patients to plan their Mommy Makeover after completing their last pregnancy.
Combining several procedures in a single surgery shortens the overall time under anesthesia and reduces total recovery time compared to performing each procedure separately. All procedures are performed under general anesthesia and take 2 to 5 hours.
Recovery after a Mommy Makeover is demanding and can be tiring, depending in part on wound healing and the risk of infection.
We encourage patients to get up and walk as soon as possible after surgery to reduce the risk of blood clots.
For 4 to 6 weeks after surgery, we recommend wearing a sports bra and compression garments and adjusting daily activities accordingly.
